Are you confident dealing with customers and love working with people?

We’re looking for enthusiastic, attentive, approachable people to join our team of Hosts who work across 6 extraordinary venues in central Wellington City which host everything from rock concerts to conferences.

Venue Hosts are the friendly faces that welcome guests and make them feel comfortable providing outstanding customer experiences.

When Wellington puts on a show, we want it to be memorable for guests, making your job very important!  When our guests have a question about the show, venue directions or the city in general, they’ll come to you. So, we need people who’ll go above and beyond to ensure the best guest experience in our venues.

As a Living Wage Employer – WellingtonNZ offers $22.75 per hour + 8% holiday pay ($24.57 per hour). Note the Living Wage will increase on 1 September 2022.

Our business is event-based; therefore, these are casual positions with shifts primarily on evenings and weekends.

Working on a casual basis for us, you get the flexibility of working in different venues in the central Wellington City, meeting different people, and having fun doing it! You also control the number of shifts you work each week however the expectation is that you will pick up a shift at least once a fortnight.

Between now and December you may be hosting during regional televised sports, the ballet, NZSO, awesome bands, international shows such as Stormzy, RuPaul’s Drag Race or even the World of Wearable Art.

  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming guests into the venues; examining and scanning tickets.
  • Helping guests to find their seats, directing them to refreshment sales and any other amenities.
  • Safety warden duties.
  • Working with the team, Host Team Leader and Venue Manager to solve any problems.

Training for these positions starts on Monday 8th August 2022 followed by several shifts to meet the needs of our venues and allow you to feel competent and confident.

To be eligible for these roles you must be available to complete our training programme within 6 weeks.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 19 July 2022 between 4pm and 7pm.
