The Southern Lakes Arts Festival Trust is seeking to fulfil the role of publicist for the 2023 Festival of Colour. This role is responsible for gaining maximum media coverage for the lead in and duration of the Festival.

Key responsibilities / Kā takohaka:

  • developing and implementing a communications plan for the Festival, and communications and media support to the Festival management team.
  • programme development, website, email and E-news content and scheduling.
  • media releases, Festival stories, artist interviews, photo opportunities and direct marketing.
  • media liaison to community organisations, local and national media outlets to drive Festival coverage.

The publicist will play a key role within the Festival of Colour team to undertake publicity activity as required. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, the ability to self-manage as well as communicate and work well within a small team.

Contract position for the period 1st October 2022 - 15 April 2023. Flexible hours based on delivery of contract with busiest period from early March to mid-April.
