The final two programmes of the New Zealand String Quartet's 25th Anniversary complete Beethoven cycle are to be streamed live over the internet to a global audience this weekend.

Online audiences can link via the New Zealand String Quartet's website on the evenings of the concerts to hear and view the concerts, which are being sound recorded by Radio New Zealand and filmed by R2 Productions.

The concerts, which take place in Wellington's St Mary of the Angels Church this Friday 7 and Saturday 8 September (both at 6.30pm NZ Time) comprise Beethoven's 'Late Quartets' – his last completed works that are regarded as some of the greatest and most spiritually profound music ever written.

The two programmes of the concerts have been touring New Zealand over the last two weeks, attracting standing ovations and stunning reviews of the New Zealand String Quartet's playing.

William Dart, in The New Zealand Herald said, "Last night, the sheer vibrancy of their playing seemed to find its own harmony with the flickering candles and mysterious purple-lit recesses of St Matthew-in-the-City" and Marian Poole of the Otago Daily Times prasied the "consummate artistry" and "brilliant and comprehensive interpretation" of the Quartet's playing.
