Te āheinga: The opportunity

The School of Creative Industries (Acting Discipline) is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated movement teacher to join our dynamic team!

We seek an inspiring artist and educator to shape and lead our movement curriculum within the acting programme. We value collaboration and innovation, both in practice and in actor training methods.

This role includes engaging in relevant research, teaching, and coordination to support the school's objectives and its crucial role as an industry training hub.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

You'll have:

 

  • An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
  • A relevant degree in Acting (Movement), and/ or an extensive body of work in professional and/ or practice-based training contexts
  • Proven experience in teaching and vocational training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment
  • Strong research background and ability to contribute to academic publications
  • Experience in working across cultural contexts
  • Additionally, a postgraduate degree in Acting is preferred but not mandatory.
