The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.) is delighted to announce the finalists of the inaugural Asian Short Story competition.

The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.) is delighted to announce the finalists of the inaugural Asian Short Story competition. The finalists are:

  • Angelique Kasmara – Asians with Perms
  • Lee Murray – The Red Cardigan
  • Rosabel Tan – Paper Butterflies
  • Latika Vasil – Open Home

Congratulations to all our finalists. The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in Auckland on Friday 18th November and will receive a cheque for $3,000. The winning entry will be published on our website for one month following the announcement.

The award this year has been generously funded by Creative New Zealand.

We received 43 entries and the selection panel felt that the overall standard was particularly high. The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.) is actively seeking ongoing funding to secure the future of this award.
