What is superb acting really all about? Having "˜it!' An X factor perhaps.
But what is "it?' What is "˜X?' And can you practice it?
You have done a little bit of acting before, or perhaps a class or two, & you want to take it a step further.
This course provides you with the opportunity to develop your craft in a practical way.

What can I expect from drama class?
If you want to have fun & challenge yourself at the same time, then you'll enjoy drama class.
It is much more than a class though. It is a performance experience. Each 9 week course prepares you for an end of term performance. Creating a small performance is the best way to learn how to do it.
My classes are based on full participation & getting over the hassles of your ego. Come & escape"”be "˜in the moment' for a moment.
Meanwhile you'll learn the craft of acting in a practical useful way. It's specific & engaging, & applicable to any theatre or film set. It is professional training available to amateurs & professionals alike.
Best thing is, anyone can do it if they want to.
Some come to class to gain skills for their local amateur theatre. Some come to class to keep improving & practicing their craft. Others come simply for self-development & confidence building.
Drama class is a safe place to develop your self-expression, while providing a motivation & challenge.

Who is John Goudge? & what is Rimu Glade Studio?
For 13 years I've been teaching drama to children & adults of all abilities. In that time I've become thoroughly convinced of the power of drama training to help people achieve in their lives.
I'm a passionate supporter of local theatre, & spend much time acting, directing or helping behind the scenes. For the past two years I have been chairperson of Waiatarua Performing Arts & an adjudicator for the Dolphin Theatre in Onehunga. For six years I was Titirangi Theatre's drama tutor. Most recently you may have seen me as Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Titirangi.
I am also a musician & writer, & am looking forward to the release of my studio album Fool Circle sometime in 2009.

I set up Rimu Glade Studio at my house in Oratia seven years ago. It's a self-contained creative studio in the Waitakere bush, & seats a small audience of about 40. Students find it a good place to relax & concentrate on their learning.
A small performance at the end of each term provides a real "˜live' opportunity to practice what you have learned.

Drama training is also available for individuals, schools, theatres, corporate groups or special projects. Ring John to talk about specifically designed courses or workshops.

How to enrol & fees:
Give me a call if you want to join a course or workshop. You can ask any questions, or visit the studio if you want.
You'll need to send a cheque or direct credit to confirm your place in class before course start.
