Manukau Festival of Arts 09 is thrilled to present Ardijah and Special Guests In Concert.

Beginning in 1978 in Otara, Ardijah’s sound is timeless, unique and mature - a blend of funk, soul fused with their own distinct Poly Fonk creation. They are Manukau’s very own legends and pioneers - from ‘back in the day’ to now.

Beginning in 1978 in Otara, Ardijah’s sound is timeless, unique and mature - a blend of funk, soul fused with their own distinct Poly Fonk creation. They are Manukau’s very own legends and pioneers - from ‘back in the day’ to now.

Ardijah will share the stage with three of Aotearoa’s finest award winning artists:

- Whirimako Black (pure velvet) - New Zealand’s soul diva whose distinctive sound has built up a loyal jazz, blues and Maori fan base with her sublime Te Reo Maori and English songs.

- Ruia Aperahama (multi-dimensional gifts). Hailing from the small rural settlement of Ratana Pa, Ruia’s brand of roots/world crossover music reflects the soulful sound of this gifted singer and song writer.

- Che Fu (founding member of legendary local band Supergroove). New Zealand’s finest Hip-Hop/R&B musician/vocalist.

Ardijah and Special Guests will be performing on 23 October for one night only at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau.

Running from 16 Oct - 15 Nov, the 2009 Manukau Festival of Arts is a celebration of Manukau’s diversity, enhancing city pride and creating a buzz like no other festival.
