Continuing his expansion into other genre Clay Bodvin had the work above listed as a Finalist in the competition Beyond Boundaries 2004 at Artrom Gallery Rome, Italy.This piece is part of a new series which, for the first time in many years, gives the viewer a glimpse of the artist himself. It also addresses the question of how the face can be depicted. In his artist's statement Bodvin refers to "...how painting with pixels might change the nature of portraits or landscapes?.

Beyond Boundaries opened on November 15 and runs through December 15. It will then be archived on the ARTROM website for one year. ARTROM, based in Rome, has been redesigning its exhibition formats and website has recently posted an interesting and challenging schedule of competitions for 2005.
Other recognised work by the artist is in the concurrent exhibition Red Abstraction 2004; and in the archived exhibitions Digitally 2004 ; Intensity 2004.
