Urban Archeology: A Ceramic Investigation with Bronwynne Cornish
A year-long course at Artstation - Monday 9am -3pm - Starts Feb 7 2005
Urban Archeology will be an investigation into the history of ceramics in Auckland and will be the basis of a contemporary response in clay by the students. This is a unique opportunity to spend time with artist and teacher Bronwynne Cornish who has long been passionate about ceramics and the richness of Auckland's ceramic history. Middens in Auckland will be explored, objects from 'digs' will be brought back to Artstation to be used as inspiration for new work. A range of speakers will be invited to contribute to the course including archeologists, long time experts in the field of ceramics and other artists. Students will be encouraged to do their own investigations and build a body of work to exhibit in the Artstation Gallery at the end of the year.
