The Hong Kong Festival is the winner of the Best Initiative Award 2012 (Asia & Australasia Region) by the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide for the third time in a row!

The Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association’s Hong Kong Festival has been bringing Hong Kong to New Zealand since 2009. We are the proud winner of the Best Initiative Awards since 2010, beating 24 countries in the Asia and Australasia Region.

The Hong Kong Festival is a volunteer-run event held annually in August. In addition to bringing Hong Kong to New Zealand, the Festival aims to help develop young talents, giving them an opportunity to turn their innovation into an opportunity.

“Brilliant effort and great outcomes for the event organisers,” says Mayor Len Brown. “A proud day for Auckland, recognising a wonderful event by the Hong Kong Chinese community for all Aucklanders.”

“We couldn’t have done it without the support from Aucklanders, our sponsors and partners,” says Festival Director Raymond Suen. “We are proud to have raised $1,000 to the SPCA Auckland, making sure that we give back to the community who supports us.”

Planning for 2013 is underway and we hope to bring you a fresh new perspective on the Festival for 2013.
